Ties That Bind
What are the ties that bind us together?
Its not "Be mine" or "Love you forever"
Its not "for richer or poorer
In sickness and in health"
Its more "in bitterness and regret
In poverty or wealth".
Its not blood,
We dont share any
Its not family
We have too many.
A ten year morgage keeps us bound
The secret to happiness, we have not found.
So we will continue, till life comes to an end.
Our last years, unhappy, together we'll spend.
