Tick-Tock

Five small steps from one end to the other,
a frustration so strong, it threatens to smother.
seeking new ways to pass the time,
heartache and sorrow fill the mind.

Trapped in a pain with no way to escape,
misery greets me with each dawning day.
Pacing the floor like a freak in a cage,
inside, kept hidden, burns a rage.

A rage so strong, it it tears at your soul,
like a ticking bomb, I'm destined to blow.
Minute-by-minute, I stare at the clock,
driving me to madness, tick-tock, tick-tock.
