Thunder

Can you hear the thunder?
It pounds into my ears
It always makes me wonder
if I control my fears

It's hard to say I'm brave
as I see that flash of light
it's the terror I crave
the lightning is my fright

The rain pitters and patters
sounding a prelude to the flood
my heart beat it flatters
as it boils in my blood

Can you hear the thunder?
it pounds into my ears
I no longer have to wonder
I cannot control my fears.

wonderfully written with pure skill and craft. I like your words the unique sequence they use to bring out the meaning of your poem.
