Through those Dreams

When you dream about tomorrow
     do you consider yesterday,
And all those twists and all those turns
that had taken you on your way?

Ever think about directions
of which you never thought to choose
When you and all around you, then,
were taking all those paths most used?

When you look into the mirror
do you see something in those eyes
That may resemble one's lost youth
which has been hidden by disguise?

Can you hear the distant echoes
from the voices of those long passed?
Maybe they're trying to tell you
it's time to change your course at last.

Some days the view is colored grey
     and the mirror's covered in mist;
Still, through those dreams of yesteryear,
we see so much of life we've missed.
