Through the Years

What makes a friendship last through the years
Filled with happiness, sorrow, laughter and tears?

Thoughts of each other near or far away
Small thoughtful gestures brighten one’s day

Caring and sharing; talking things through
Time for each other; fun things to do

Knowing each has a life of one's own
Sharing our trials over the phone

When the ocean seems vast and the future’s not bright
It’s hearing your voice that makes things seem right
