Through the Wires
Through the wires, miracles of a sparkling age
Provide the means to make contact;
And in the closing petals of dusk, or the full bloom of dawn,
Configures the channels by which we interact.
The snow dust outside sits like visual cocaine on the lines,
Glittering with the allure of addictive import,
Holding fast the gaze of those singularly bedazzled,
Captivating the dreaming of minds in consort.
How does one express the value of such dreams,
The true worth of the vibes of relating,
The meaning of friendships marbled with affection,
How does one express the beauteous integrating?
And in not knowing which medium speaks supreme,
The vessel most appropriate to address,
I think of the female poem that you are, and all your meaning,
And hope this versed creation serves you best.
For the friendship I have felt course through the wires,
The sensate focus of your gentle heart and mind,
Infused in me such life and zestful warmth
By communiqués so sweet and so refined.
So I thank you for the rare gifts you bestow upon my soul,
The precious time and all that you impart,
And I thank you for the friend that I shall always dwell upon,
Through the wires and from the bottom of my heart.
