Through the Window

Outside her window were her favorite things,
Her children's voices and fresh flowers of Spring.

Grunts from her husband while repairing the car,
Their summer evenings sitting under the stars.

The painted landscape of those Autumn days,
Pumpkin carving and raking leaves for play.

Snowy, wintry, frosty scenes,
Of ice encased branches of trees so serene.

Memories of the heart will always last,
Though the heart still yearns for what has passed.

A sweet nostalgic write, Judith! The last two lines were a perfect finish. Blessings, Kim M
