Through the Veins
Through Our Veins
How can I say I love you?
And have you fully appreciate its worth.
How can I express how you’ve changed me?
From the moment of your birth.
How can I tell you how I feel?
When words can not explain.
The special bond between us,
That’s much more than a name.
Son, how can I hold you close?
When growing-up takes you far.
From the playful little boy,
Who wished upon a star.
How can I pave the way for you?
When your footsteps are your own.
How can I be assured?
That you’ll never be far from home.
How can I write the future?
When it changes every day.
How can I control destiny’s winds?
When I haven’t got a say.
Although you’ll grow and need me less,
I’ll love you just the same.
For your blood is my blood,
And it runs through our veins.
