Through My Window

Light from the star
we call "The Sun" comes through
  my window
     Nourishing the plants on my
window sill
My wishes float out through the
  same open window
   Leaving me hopeful they will
find rich soil and take root
   Unable to see the future
         we must depend
on the pillars of hope we have
    built
Another day here in the asphalt homeland
   People move, cars move
the city is rocketing onward
   Through my window
  I espie builidngs where thousands
upon thousands of my fellow
  dwellers
       Are dreaming and hoping
as we all do
     The metropolis wil give us
answers
   In due time

This is one of my favorite I have read of your poems Matthew. I appreciate the nice comment you left for me on my haiku. Mahalo and Aloha, Connie
