Three Wishes From a Faerie

You can grant someone three wishes. Anyone? One stipulation. Anyone you do not know. It cannot be a friend or a relative. How does that work? You may grant three generous wishes to three strangers. How could I guess what they need? That’s you prerogative. I ponder this for a second. Go down the street to the next block. Gift a stranger a healthy life until she is one hundred. She has no idea; she is only two or three. Then I swish a gift onto a man who passes me on the sidewalk. Because I like his smile, his mortgage is paid off. Third wish. Not as easy. Once given away, there are no wishes left. Can I give you a wish? I ask the faerie. She shakes her head ‘no”. You KNOW me.We argue about it. During the argument I realize I do know her. She is everyone I have ever argued with; but more intensely. I grant a new car to a young couple driving up in an old beater. Poof! They are now driving a brand new red Lincoln, and it is gorgeous! Too bad they cannot afford the insurance or the plates the faerie says. Too bad she cannot keep her thoughts to herself I think. Still, I am feeling relieved I got rid of these wishes as fast as I did.
