Notes About The Poem

Looking forward to as many more as God will let me have

Three Score and Fourteen

Three Score and Fourteen
By Franklin Price
11/14/2019

Today is my birthday
Three score and fourteen
It's the very oldest for me
That I have ever seen

I still have all my senses
All five of them still there
I have a bald spot I can't see
In the back side of my hair

I can't think as fast now
As I did back in the day
Been retired several years
So that's okay to say

I am very grateful
For my family and friends
That I still walk on two legs
And all my joints still bend

My lovely wife of many years
Is still the one I seek
We're celebrating fifty
In just another week

Would not change a thing of note
That I've written in this rhyme
The life I've had at seventy-four
I would live, again, another time
