Three Answers

I decided to try my hand at writing poetry Not realising that the whole wide world would see A poetic talent that I never knew I had Until some kind folk they said that it wasn't bad So I write about the things, that really interest me Historical and humourous, rhyming poetry I compose it, fine tune it and put it on display And yes it does feel good, if I make someone's day . And if people's interest's are similar to mine Yes, it matters to them that they can find my work online So when they are searching, for humour or history I hope that in their search, that search points them to me. Throughout the ages, poets used free verse and rhyme Writing about life events occurring in their time So that in the future people they will see A colourful poetic record of our history So I believe the answer, to question number three Is that you can never have enough of decent poetry . G'day Tom … well said Tom. I find writing a story in meter and rhyme is the best way to tell a tale, and written well; the best way to read a story, but that's just me - well done Tom with your food for thought - Lindsay

Tom, the reality of my becoming a Poe, Longfellow, Browning, or any other well known poet is not what I aspire to be. What I aspire to be is a poet as good as you who writes so extremely well but also encourages others in every comment you send in a congratulatory note to them on what they have written. Yes, neither Poe, Longfellow, Browning, can sway me in that manner. Congratulations on your placement, my friend.
