Three

Three By Laura Dee Battle February 8, 2015 Three kings I didn't wanna face They came long ago to take my grace Every time I saw their grey, sunken eyes Seeing through my daydream disguise Three tears streaming down my face There's nothing left for me to replace I'm empty now, can't you see through me? Transparency may be my deadly disease Three chances I was given then Through those trials I couldn't win Maybe hopeless; nothing else to do I wasn't sad; it was nothing new So, maybe Oh maybe for fun I felt the way That you do with a gun And maybe Oh maybe it's true You really should know This is nothing new Three chances that I ever had Without love I was never sad No currency to claim my prize You couldn't see through my disguise Three days from now I'm seeing this Wiping tears that I'll never miss I cannot hide the sun outside If nothing else I have my pride A queen inside with another chance After all, I still know how to dance The date may be a moment too late Today I'll leave everything to fate So maybe Oh maybe for fun I feel the way You do with a gun And maybe Oh maybe it's true I'm lost out here And it's nothing new [Listening to "Top Expert" by Cat Power]
