Notes About The Poem

Thoughts On Xmas

Bethlehem star is shining bright
On top of spruce, it looks just right
Xmas lights are now turned on
Season of goodwill has begun.

Time of joy with family and friends
Perfect time to make amends
Yet, we are consumed ~ what to buy
Commercialism will not die.

Xmas encourages peace and love
On top of crib sits a dove
Simplicity birthed Nativity
Hope it will banish bigotry.

Three kings traveled from near and far
Difference celebrated~followed same star
Frankincense, myrrh, and pure gold
Gifts of beauty as story unfolds.

Stable is pivotal to Xmas day
Evil defeated~sent on its way
Spiritual heart will remove all fear
Hope will guide us for love is near.
