Thoughts On the Rapture

I hear folks talking about the rapture, I’m not always sure what they mean For Christians it would be a closure, Something one might in fantasy dream. I won’t put down what some believe From a sincere heart, their Bible read It’s just that it’s hard for me to conceive, How would it fulfill the Creator’s need? I find being “left behind” a nasty trick -- Not the sort of thing a loving God would do, The idea that Christ died for all does speak To me, resonates through and through. The idea that only Christians are saved Doesn’t fit very well with my theology For every human being the way is paved And for my belief, I make no apology. What loving parent condemns their child Who strays away from their upbringing? God loves all His children, meek and wild, And into His kingdom, he’ll be bringing.

The rapture is an intriguing subject for me. Lucky me to run across yours. I can’t say that we are on the same page but I have always enjoyed varying points of view on interesting topics.

A study of chapter 4 in Revelation is pretty clear on it. God leaves no one behind, giving all an easy way to be saved. It is by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Study the Jewish Wedding, a mirror image of the rapture. The most important decision in anyone's life. We all sin and come short of the glory of 'God. I'm super weak in my life but I know I'm saved by God's Grace. The Signs are playing right through the pages of the Bible now. Study.

Well, we don't have to be on the same page for you to appreciate my poem, J. In my lifetime, I've been all over the page on my thinking about the rapture. Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment.
