Thoughts On the Rapture
I hear folks talking about the rapture,
I’m not always sure what they mean
For Christians it would be a closure,
Something one might in fantasy dream.
I won’t put down what some believe
From a sincere heart, their Bible read
It’s just that it’s hard for me to conceive,
How would it fulfill the Creator’s need?
I find being “left behind” a nasty trick --
Not the sort of thing a loving God would do,
The idea that Christ died for all does speak
To me, resonates through and through.
The idea that only Christians are saved
Doesn’t fit very well with my theology
For every human being the way is paved
And for my belief, I make no apology.
What loving parent condemns their child
Who strays away from their upbringing?
God loves all His children, meek and wild,
And into His kingdom, he’ll be bringing.
