Thoughts of Winter

Cold frost snow means winter
simply stunning such a scene
with the frost on the ground
covering all thats usually green

You take an early morning walk
in the crisp frost filled ground
it crackles under your feet
such crunching sound as you pound

The air is biting and haunting
your ears feel the cold nip
as the trees rustles in the breeze
the freezing water just does drip

Such is the beauty of winter
as attractive as any landscape
it's a picture to savour
from its view never to escape

So relish the moment
take in all of this scene
it won't pass here again
nature's way of being clean

A vivid visual write. Well done,Gordon. I like that crunching sound but it is rather chilling.

Lovely pastoral piece, Gordon! Winter can indeed be captivating - It's just the bite of the biting wind - hard to overcome!
