Thoughts of a Child

THOUGHTS OF A CHILD
by Tina Lasley

I remember being a child
So innocent and carefree
Imagining myself grown up
Wondering what I would be

What would I look like
What kind of car would I drive
Would I be a Mom
Or a career would I strive

Would I meet Prince Charming
Live happily ever after
Would I have a happy life
Filled with lots of laughter

What kind of house would I live in
Would it be big or small
Would money be sufficient
Or would I have not much at all

Sitting in the shade
Or enjoying the afternoon sun
My mind was always thinking
As the other kids would play and run

I never once imagined
How things really turned out to be
Oh, to be a child again
So innocent and carefree
