Thoughts From 35,000 Feet
Thoughts from 35,000 ft.
The bird ascends
through seas of clouds.
Bursting upon
the sun in her shroud.
We climb
where heaven gives birth.
Clouds now serve
as a mystery to earth.
Silver specks streak
across sky and space.
Searing the horizon
on wings of grace.
Safely in our cocoon
of metal and fire.
We glance below
on majestic spires.
Moon overhead
A storm below.
Theater of lighting
bathed in the glow.
In cities at rest,
below starry lights.
Volcanoes of fire
dance through the night.
Here in this realm,
man strives to leave.
Terrestrial chains
begin to grieve.
This gift is only
granted to a few:
a seat in the heavens
with a divine view.
