Thoughts

The day is hiding
in the night's hinges.
Tired eyes displace
the falling light.

My thoughts wander
with the waves of remembrance
like lonely clouds,
fading in the wind.

History hides its torn face
behind trees and fields,
becomes unreal.

The bone china petals
of the orchid
on my window sill
brighten my day.

My thoughts
lay off their heaviness
and lead me back to present.
