Those Above Us
Lay on the fresh grass
Look up at the deep dark skies
The window to infinity
And gaze at the twinkling stars
As the world you know is cast into the shadows
One by one they slowly appear
A strong beacon of hope and light
At the darkest of times
But those celestial crystals never truly disappear
When the sun outshines them
Or the majestic clouds overshadow
They are only hidden, they still watch down on us from above
When we don't need them
We often forget them
But when the darkness threatens to envelope us whole
The stars are there to remind us of those lighter moments
And those memories in the darkness are enough to survive the night
Because the stars symbolize so much more than constellations
They symbolize hope, strength
And above all else a reliability only outmatched by the divine Himself.
