Thorns

Walking through the moonlight
Echos at your feet
Head bowed to the earth
Alone in your defeat

The voices they speak loudly
The shadows they loom tall
The biggest bow won't stop you
Alone in your last fall

The dead leaves tumble
Through the space between your feet
Your thoughts race wildly
The memories remain bittersweet

Are you lonely
Are you torn?
Walking through your patch
Your patch of endless thorns
