This Winter

Harsh winds blowing
    through the air
We walk down city
             streets
  Our hopes blown by
         the winter wind
  Some time later
we reach our destination
which is warm - full of light
       The howling winds on
the outside cut into our lives
    as night approaches
Our eyes tear with appreciation
for the miracles
which are heat, warmth and the labor which
    built our homes
