This Time of Life

This Time Of Life By Rick Rucker I can’t believe, at this time of Life, I’ve asked a woman to be my Wife. I was so Alone, Talking to others on the phone, But there was a growing need, One which I could not fail to heed. I thought I’d never again have the chance, To savor the taste of True Romance, I met a Vision, purely by Fate, Sent to me, before it was too late, Beautiful, and sophisticated, Even more intelligent than I estimated, Her intelligence I had to question, When she accepted a date, at my suggestion! While she was talking, I couldn’t help but gawking, At the lovely creature across from me, Thinking “how lucky can I be?” We’ve now been on many dates, Talked about being each other’s mates, There are still things to resolve, But the problems have seemed to dissolve, Soon enough, we’ll do the thing, Down the aisle, exchange a ring, This is just a formality, Living together will be our normality. One day, they’ll write this over my body, in granite, “Here lies the Luckiest Man on the Planet!”
