This Smile Lies

this smile lies
it’s hiding my demise
disguising my inner pain

these days I spend at home
friendless and alone
wishing for a time never truly known

this smile lies
it’s hiding my demise
disguising my inner pain

it greets you in the morning
says hi in the day
but it’s only hiding my dismay

the sun vanished from my skies long ago
but my smile hides it so no one will know
about all this pain I keep deep down below

this smile lies
it’s hiding my demise
disguising my inner pain

it deceives you each day
concealing my distress
as I suppress all of my pain

this smile lies
it’s hiding my demise
disguising my inner pain
