This Ring Upon My Hand

We have become very good friends;
My mind she seems to understand.
But at friendship our relationship must end
Because of this ring upon my hand.

I am aware of her attractiveness,
And how in her presence I know that I’m a man;
But these feelings I must suppress
Because of this ring upon my hand.

There is another to whom I am wed;
I still love and with her always will stand.
I still respect those vows that we said
Because of this ring upon my hand.

So please accept me as a platonic friend
Knowing if things were different I’d try to be your man;
But there is room for only one lover in my bed
Because of this ring upon my hand.

God bless you, Joe..Love is sacrifice...sweet when you know you share it with true vows, besides, all the glitter are illusions. Peace and love, to you and yours...Audrey

Your wife's a lucky lady, Joe, and I respect you for standing by her. Platonic friends are welcome in my life and I hope you will continue to be one. I do have a sense that you are quite a special person. Love, Carolyn
