This Really Cannot Be Done
This is a great gig.
We are attending school in a hybrid model.
A teacher’s class size is eight to ten students.
About a third of how many we usually have.
It would be even better if we could do any group things
Instead the children sit six to eight feet apart
Behind three-sided plastic partitions
Wearing masks that fog up their eyeglasses
We thought virtual school was weird.
This is every inch as strange.
Walking in a line down hallways six feet apart.
CDC was right. This really “cannot be done”
and yet here we are, in a school,
pretending we are doing it.
