This Perfect Dream
This perfect day
of summer hues,
This flower unfurled
in morning dews,
This golden sunrise
brings glorious news
To this wonderful world
beyond greens and blues.
This mother nature
of all that grows,
This scent on the breeze
in the wind that blows,
This chorus of birdsong
brings larks and crows
To sway in the trees
and chirping hedgerows.
This marvellous thought
in times of mirth,
This vision I hold
of value and worth,
This future prophecised
brings peace to Earth
To this story foretold
of man's rebirth.
This restful mood
of tiring eyes,
This moonlit eve
and twinkling skies,
This guiding star
brings all that's wise
To this journey I weave
beyond days demise.
This portrait of slumber
of peace displays
This colourful scheme
in midnight greys,
This image of beauty
brings a sleepy haze
To this perfect dream
beyond perfect days.
