This One Is For You

one day i remember looking you in the eyes

then the next day i sat in my room wanting to be surrounded by lies

but everything i was hearing was truth

my heart was broken by the death of one of God's youth

i couldn't understand how one so innocent could be here one second

and gone the next minute

i sat in my room silent

i didn't say a word

my breath stripped away

my eyes filled with tears

a heart broken in minutes

by one of my worst fears

i hope to see you in heaven

when i have completed my years

until then i pray that God will rest his hand on your shoulder

and protect you from harm and torture
