This Misty Rain

Bearing in mind this weather is
Wearing our nerves quite thin.
Staring at this misty rain,
Daring summer to begin.

Sun is what we hoped to find.
Fun and sunshine and heat.
None is what we have received.
One could call Mother Nature a cheat.

Oh ! to be shed of constant rain.
Foe of our summer fun.
Go now! we've had our fill of you.
No sign that summer's begun.

Me, I've had enough of rain.
Free us from this constant drizzle.
See the sun for one brief moment,
We smile.... its gone..... hopes fizzle.

Excellent use of this somewhat difficult form, Francine. Just read your haiku asking for rain and now I see the other side. I guess whatever weather we're having, we can either find a way to enjoy it or wish for something better. Outstanding entry for Rick's contest. Best wishes for success. Love, Carolyn
