This Last Dance

In hands lie the touch
of innocents, of youth
this sweet truth
guides my way
this melody
finishes the words
I could never put in song
nor say,

this feeling that sinks
within my skin
drowned the emotions
and let me fall in
into a dazed state
every moment of the night,
you made fake

in a dance
within the hands of time
touched every bullet
on the shooting line
in a slow and steady pace
you brought the tears
upon my face

petal after petal
the flower falls apart
as my love for you dies
it digs into my heart
a heavy burden
this last dance
will bare
as the music ends
I let lose with a stare

I drop my head and back away
this moment, this music
has said things I couldn't say
I no longer see,
the person I once knew
I now know we were already through

It's a sad one, and interesting to read. At first I thought maybe it was for the contest on dance themes. But I see it is a metaphor on last dance. I enjoyed seeing this. LUv, Andrea
