This Is Uncle Max and This Is Aunt Thrax

STOP TO SINK ABOUT THIS

What you don’t understand is that I understand those of you who don’t understand
I fully and factually get the things you do with clarity and class
The way I understand why you cook yourself simply to stay well tanned
And I even get why you pray to a deity who says “go to church” and then kicks your
ass

What you don’t understand is that I don’t understand those who understand
They know about quarks, black holes and deep outer space
I don’t understand those who understood why, In Boston books should be banned
And worse then that is then one night they burned books, which was a total
disgrace

What you don’t understand is that there are things about which I don’t want to
understand
I don’t get how greedy Americans just came along and stole some of Mexico
I don’t understand intense facts like one country just stealing another country’s
land
And if you ask me I don’t understand the difference between gas from Shell or
Texaco

I do it to survive without food nor shelter so I understand crime
but to make you understand that which I don’t understand and that which I do
One must have a mind such as mine littered with glitter and eroded by time
and of all the litany and lists I have that I don’t understand, that list begins with
each one of you
