This Is the Dying Time of Life

This is the dying time of life
For sunset comes and day dies too
This is the dying time of life
Friend and friend I bid you adieu

In all these rains flowers fall
They know and hear the graves invite
In all these rains flowers fall
And men dig graves through the night

My friends are going one by one
The proud footsteps of the reaper comes
My friends are going one by one
This body soon to time too shall succumbs

This is the dying time of life
I have loved my love and now must wait
This is the dying time of life
I pray the second coming will not be late.

Nicely rhymed, but a bit mauldlin. I hope it is a while til I lose friends.

I hope so too, but I need reflect since I have recently lost a couple friends. I must attend these funerals, and the thought alone depresses. The light still shines ... keep faith.
