This Is the Day
This is the day to make my choice,
The day that others will hear my voice.
Will I do what others want?
Or will I just be upfront?
They repeat the same old line.
They can not admit that I'll be fine.
I've had troubles in the past,
But look at all that I've outlast.
Don't they see the change I've made?
Or are they the ones now afraid?
What more can I do to show them all
That on my face I will not fall?
Now I can stand on my own two feet.
I will never again admit defeat.
No more am I the little girl lost.
I've weathered the worst of life's frost.
I've blossomed into a beautiful rose.
Their limits they can no longer impose.
I've made the choice. I will live my life.
I will put behind the past pain and strife.
