This Is Getting Over You

I smoked, On the last night here. Before moving on, Before getting over you. And everything you said. I choke on the words, Swallow them down in my head. So they wash past my eyes, Like silhouettes of fire. Forty shades of patience, All that I've tried. And tried and tried again, In a battle I can't win. Like fighting through the static, Of the street lights in the wind. And clear my mind by watching, The white noise unfold. If I could make out a voice, All the secrets untold. The smokes glides through the trees, And up to the moon. And back through my lungs, This is getting over you.
