This Imperfect World

In this imperfect world I find an imperfect me
The suns in my eyes making it quite hard to see
I seem to get by with not what I want but what I need
My soul is famished so it is starting to feed.

I hope and I wish because they can come true
It’s not on anyone else it is all up to you
The imperfect world may collapse in a while
But it is resurrected whenever you just smile.

I get so much wrong in a world that’s gone bad
I seem to want more and neglect what I had
But nobody is perfect so I accept who I am
I’ll try to do better if I think that I can.

I’m really concerned how we embrace war
Even when we can’t see what we are fighting for
Just save the world so they can be like us
I really don’t get what is all the fuss?

People are different with many points of view
Mix them together and you create a stew
Why can’t we just learn how to trust?
Why change the world when we think that we must.

The politician breeds discontent and fear
They say that it looks like the end is near
But in this imperfect world who’s really right
Certainly not the ones that show the most might.

So I take a few seconds to consider my fate
I hope that this time doesn’t make it too late
The questions and the answers just don’t equate
In this imperfect world I just can’t relate…
