THIS IS A TRUE STORY. I CAN NOT DISCUSS THE DETAILS AT THIS TIME. THE CASE IS STILL IN THE COURTS. THAT IS THE REAL PAINTING, BLOOD TEAR AND ALL. I CAN SAY THE PAINTING WAS CONFISCATED BY THE POLICE AS EVIDENCE. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THEY CAN KEEP IT. *****************************************************************
That's when the woman in the canvas, well, started to cry but the tear was blood and it made me wonder... I think anyone would have. I wondered. How? How was that possible? So I thought maybe I had blacked out... that I had added the tear ...in a coma or a waking dream I, I don't know but there was no paint anywhere there were no brushes. So I looked at the time no minutes had passed. The time was as it should be. That's when... ...when I realized I had been shot... ...a stray bullet from outside. ...like you said that gang war thing but I ask you officer, I mean what are the odds? What are the chances... ...chances that my blood, that my blood would splatter like that... perfect, a tear on a painted canvas. That's what scares me officer. Not the gangs. What scares me officer what really scares me is that painting.

I had something happen to a picture once as I held it in my hand. Your story reminds me of that moment and I had chills. Maybe it was my fever, maybe. Congratulations on your win Maurice and stay away from paintings in the dark.

Haunting, Maurice. Nothing scares us more than the fear of unknown - especially when that "unknown" is laced with truth, not fiction. Did some murderer paint a portrait of the victim after she died?? So much mystery... not sure which is stronger: my curiosity or my revulsion.

Macabre? But not macabre, it's perfectly a Maurice poem, "chances" "perfect" "how" "but" very calculative. Ambrose or Poe like. Great concept and scheme. love Maurice. Learning from you....:-) rajat

wow, that is SOME kind of tale, Maurice. So glad I stayed here a bit longer tonight to see this post of yours. The way you write it, it sounds as if it all happened to YOU but of course, I am pretty sure you are putting yourself in the shoes of the person who was shot. I do believe it was just a well timed coincidence that his blood made this bloody AWESOME painting! (it is pretty cool looking. I say this because I like macabre stuff). If you care to tell me the details in a soupmail, feel free!

I was frozen all of the way through this one. I wish it weren't a true event, but if you felt compelled to write a poem...it turned out well.

That is a chilling story. I do hope you are fine after the gun shot. We hear of many scary stories and you will have to find out what the courts say and if it is your blood on the picture. So sorry that happened to you. love phyl
