This Gentle Sphere

This Gentle Sphere This gentle sphere we call the earth Has been dying since its birth Volcanic islands dot the ocean The continents in constant motion Making mountains, carving valleys The planet freezes then it rallies Reptiles rule and then decline Eventually we have mankind Who uses resources as he pleases As the life of earth he squeezes No sign of any contemplations Of his future generations I guess he doesn’t know how dear And fragile is this gentle sphere Mdailey 4/15/12
