This Day, This Christmas Day
Bake the turkey or the ham
get out the special cookie stand
roast a duck or Christmas goose
soon enough the children will bust loose;
packages wrapped so carefully
set out on Christmas Eve beneath the tree
will be open earlier than the morning comes
as the glowing faces display happiness and fun;
this day, this Christmas day quickly progresses
dress up in your best suit and dresses
gather in the holy glow of angelic song
and remember Christmas treasures here and gone;
family and friends sharing hope and memories told
that refresh our spirits in harmonic stories of old
of all promises God gave us on this day to celebrate
the blessings and the chance to live in faith.
