This Beautiful Friendship
I have created the coldest place of despicable solitude,
keeping the joyful words locked in a mind of loneliness;
ah, they never were spoken to reach another altitude...
thoughts tossed to a storm unable to free themselves!
This beautiful friendship deserved much more,
I didn't lift it higher than the radiant sky above;
I terribly failed to honor it, what did it cost me?
How can I amend it, who's willing to help me?
To die alone is the most awful and cruel punishment,
no hand comforting mine, no teary eyes staring...
only God's presence to soothe my endless torment;
old friends, gather around me and feel my trembling.
This beautiful friendship lasted over countless years,
then quickly faded in the doubts of insincere deeds;
my resentment grew deeper alienating all trusted friends...
did the bond that existed shatter and ended in fragments?
