This Animal Within

And so it begins, this urge deep down inside My blood boils, my body quivers to the bone Down this tainted path, I’ve lost my loyal guide I’ve become the beast that you haven’t known This anger doesn’t want to stay in any more The pain I feel becomes a fuel that pushes me Growls grow stronger to become a fierce roar After searching for so long, I’ve found my key Memories are no more, love has been forgotten What I believed to be a nightmare is a release Happiness; hope; faith; to the core, have rotten With a grin across my face, a finally feel peace A new found strength overwhelms my very being You won’t know fear until you gaze into my eyes Laughter erupts as I watch you cowards fleeing Inside I watch as the one you love slowly dies Broken from this cage, freedom I can now see Giving into this darkness maybe the greatest sin But now I’m alive, you created what shouldn’t be No one will be able to tame this animal within
