This Ails Me To the Core

This ails me to the core

Cursed by an illness but ails for something more
A boy who had some courage to face what he came here for
An entire system destroyed because the system was so poor
Elements of strength that came like thunder through the open door
A vicious circle broken because he saw it lying across the floor
Angels and demons became the same as only once before
The truth is there is no hell or heaven but only a savage war
I will take no part in it as it stains history to me it abhors
You see this place we call home was an image of celestial awe
We made it abundant that life was something someone said “It’s worth dying for”
We lost our instincts to resist power with our minds and turn our heads and say no more
We compromise our lives away till we will realize from the start this is what ails the core.
