Thinking of the Civil War

Dancing to a Dixieland band, I think of General Lee And General Sherman who led a march to the sea. I am glad that I did not live in the south back in the day. I cannot imagine how fast my sad feet could not run away.

Ooh, rough thought, I would not want to have lived then, either.

We have troubles of our own, great sadness and awful state of slavery leading to the civil war!

I really think the north was trying to get to the ports of the south - slavery was a tiny excuse the ones with money used to grab what they wanted; nothing ever changes here.

Civil War - so glorified now. It was anything but Civil. Hope we don't have another one soon too. Keep on dancing, Caren.

Ah, it brings back so many memories of the time I lived in southernmost Virginia and heard those southernisms every day. The Dixieland band...I adore!
