Thinking of Mom.

As morning washed over me I took a moment, a thought, time... a child who was no more then a burden now thirty-nine, never once did I take the easy way, she knew it wasn't me son off to college,my baby now 13, dose she see? I found true love, a wonderful wife, and planted my tree I washed away my sins took what life gave me and let it be, happy and humbled loved and looked to some one I want to be, now theres no here to say there proud of me.

Nice poem, thanks for sharing. I fortunately still have my mom (sadly 300+ miles away) but have lost my dad - of whom I wrote a poem for. You think your parents are gonna be around and when they pass on, its heartbreaking.

I could really indentify with this poem. My mom died when she was only 46, and all these years later, I still long for her to see what has become of my life. She never knew my children, and now they are grown. What I would give to see how wonderful her grandchildren are, and feel her arms around me again. A touching poem, Michael. ~Carrie

I know that feeling. It's sad and empty and one we must live with. Perhaps somehow they are near, and know. This one so tugged at my heart. Love, Shar
