Things

There are certain things in life
I couldn’t do without – 
Reading, music and a home
Where I can muck about.

Pencils, paper, ice cream, beer,
Coffee, bagels, cheese – 
Take them from me and you will
Have brought me to my knees.

Note, they’re objects I describe
Which sate my appetite.
For people, that would be
Another poem I’d have to write.
