Slavery was never 'right.' Neither was or is wanton destruction of public property...

A punch to America's gut An utter shock to me They've toppled the statue Of Francis Scott Key He wrote the National Anthem America's most famous song Why on earth such destruction What did Key do wrong They say he owned slaves When it was legal to do so Some topplers' ancestors may have too Perhaps they're the true foe... People who live in glass houses Shouldn't throw stones Two wrongs don't make a right As history has shown It didn't make any headlines Not even a 'Golly Gee' When they desecrated the memory Of Francis Scott Key

Glad you feel this way about Francis Scott Key. He sure must have been a horrible man to have his statue toppled. Wonder if he was as lawless as those who toppled him! Oh, well... Idiocy abounds these days... :) gw

Amen, Gershon! And descecrated the statue of George Washington in Portland besides going after Jefferson. Without their leadership we would not have this great experiment called America. I would suggest these "people" go study their history to truly understand what these people jeapordized birthing thie country!

Yes, two wrongs do not make a write. Violence is not a good means to protest over time. Best. Mohan

Following Hitler's playbook, Trump promotes dissension so he can overthrow authority to restore order! More to come! Aloha! Rico

Wasn't it Julius Caesar who originated "Divide and Conquer?!" At any rate, Mr. Trump is doing a pretty poor job of conquering, I'd say. Looks like he'd suffering defeat on every front these days: Law and Order, Supreme Court, Covid - 19, Congress, Police Departments, City, Immigration... Popularity Polls, Fund-Raising (Biden topped Trump in May). It may be 'Aloha, Mr. Trump,' sooner rather than later. What that portends, who knows. Glad to be retired at this point, myself. :) gw
