Slavery was never 'right.' Neither was or is wanton destruction of public property...
A punch to America's gut
An utter shock to me
They've toppled the statue
Of Francis Scott Key
He wrote the National Anthem
America's most famous song
Why on earth such destruction
What did Key do wrong
They say he owned slaves
When it was legal to do so
Some topplers' ancestors may have too
Perhaps they're the true foe...
People who live in glass houses
Shouldn't throw stones
Two wrongs don't make a right
As history has shown
It didn't make any headlines
Not even a 'Golly Gee'
When they desecrated the memory
Of Francis Scott Key
