They Yet Stand Their Guard
Two lions sit perched on the dew covered lawn,
silently they witness approaching dawn.
Their marbleized forms catch days first light,
no longer hidden from dark of night.
Unmoving, they gaze to horizon’s end,
lords of the grounds they heroically fend.
But oblivious to movement throughout each day,
upon their poised perch they eternally stay.
Unphased of the hours, they yet stand their guard
as shadows reach forth to these lions stone hard.
Uncaring of time and days into nights,
they tirelessly watch from darkness to light.
Two lions sit perched on the dew covered lawn ............
