They Say But Do Not Know

They say I am the best thing that has ever happened to you
But they are wrong
They don't realise that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me
There are those that don't like me, they say I stole you from them
You never told them you wanted it to be like this, they wouldn't understand
Those who are older and wiser, they see me as your saviour
I see you as my foundation and my muse, they cannot understand
They are terrible things to listen to
And they will know it someday
When we are beyond them
They say many things but know nothing about us
