They Saw the Ship Ah Coming
looking to the better tomorrow
standing on each and every promise
looking at the differences
and wondering if there is something better
with someone else
thinking about things some else did wrong
not looking at what you did wrong yourself
holding your pride and keeping your head up
knowing and believing in the trust
of those tommorows
the days were these differences
are seen as chances
glances to make
something strange known and understood
calming the shores of the story sea
making those dry places the places were we know safety is
and finding some where to lay your head when we rest to sleep
when those eyes
have seen the coming of the next day
where the sun makes show upon the sky
there were we wake and see
our renewing
there beyond the newday sky
right now we see this together
might then tomorrow it might never change
pray ye God of this earthly world
in this glorious morning sight
that your mercy is as gracious
as the weary power of mercilessness
and your grace is as wonderful
as your might
