These Empty Lives
if i died
trying to find you
what else
could the good lord
himself do
you never know
the damage
people go through
just to make it
through a song
when all
of the fuel
runs out
of your
empty lies
what do
you live for
i need a reason to smile
a reason to breathe again
i've taken all the punches
i'm going to take for a while
some people say
love's a losing game
and life is much of the same
when all
of the fuel

of your
empty lies
what do
you live for
rain keeps
the ghost from shuffling
you and i were
too desperate to dance
so we're moving on from here
critters don't speak
they just watch from a distance
tick a tock at a time
crossing my fingers
like we're destined for more
raging like times have changed
desperate for touch
so we prude the puddle
lay ruin to the pad
reminisce of the times
you were once all i had
