These Brief Encounters
These Brief Encounters
The elderly women, such a bewildered look
The studious young one, lost within a book
The old man with a cantankerous lost smile
The cute little child solemnly plays for a while
The angry young man, showing all distain
The struggling family with nothing to gain
The friendly young woman, brightens your day
The solemn, lost lonely one, with nothing to say
The single mom, making ends meet
The drug addict, feeling such defeat
The drunken man, stumbles once again
The working man, one day it will all end
All these people you meet as you go about your day
Each, everyone of them, a reason that you meet today
These brief meetings, perhaps a lesson to reencounter
To open your heart and mind to these brief encounters
